Fees, requirements & process

From $20

Kittens (under 10 months): $200; Cats: $125; Senior Cats (10+ years): $75; Bonded Duos Mature: $150; Pair of Kittens: $350; Barn Cats: By donation ($20 minimum)

Requirements

All cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed prior to adoption. The entire family must be aware and in agreement, and adopters must meet the animal prior to finalizing the adoption. Existing pets in the home must be fixed or have solid plans to be spayed/neutered at an age-appropriate time. Some kittens may require adoption in pairs or to homes with other social cats. Adopted pets must never be rehomed and must be returned to the rescue if the adopter cannot keep them.

How it works

Step 1: Submit an online adoption application, which will be reviewed by the team alongside reference checks (phone/Zoom meetings required at their discretion). Step 2: Complete a meet and greet at a foster home, partner pet store, or public location. Step 3: Proceed with payment, finalize the adoption, and transfer veterinary records. Same-day adoptions are possible at events but not required.

Surrendering a cat

Adopters who cannot keep their pet must return them directly to The Rescue Collective Foundation; rehoming under any circumstances is strictly prohibited, and ample notice must be provided since the rescue is entirely foster-based.
