Adopting

Fees, requirements & process

Adoption fees can be paid online via PayPal or in cash at the time of adoption.

Requirements

Submit an application and obtain approval before scheduling a meet and greet. A meet and greet does not guarantee adoption, and the rescue does not hold animals. Foster-to-adopt participants must provide transportation to scheduled spay/neuter appointments.

How it works

1. Submit an online adoption application via PetEstablished. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-matched basis. 2. Once approved, coordinate with the foster caregiver to arrange an in-person or virtual meet-and-greet within 24–48 hours. 3. Sign the adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee via PayPal or cash (or opt for a foster-to-adopt agreement if the cat's vetting is still in progress). 4. Schedule a pickup time to bring your new cat home.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What veterinary care do cats receive prior to adoption?

Before adoption, all cats at A Little TLC are spayed or neutered, combo tested, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated.

How does the Foster-to-Adopt program work?

Foster to adopt allows an adopter to take home a cat whose vetting is not yet fully completed. A Little TLC coordinates finishing vaccinations and schedules the spay/neuter surgery, while the adopter is responsible for transporting the cat to the veterinary appointment.

What are the basic requirements to become a foster parent for A Little TLC?

Foster caregivers must be at least 18 years old, have written consent from their landlord or property manager if renting, provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations (including Rabies) for resident pets, have reliable transportation to vet appointments, and maintain regular communication with rescue staff.
