JR's Pups-N-Stuff is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, foster-based animal rescue based in southeastern Wisconsin dedicated to saving animals from high-kill shelters and life-threatening situations. While heavily focused on dogs, the rescue also provides adoption opportunities for cats and small animals through dedicated foster placement and thorough screening. Operating across facilities in Wauwatosa and Salem Lakes (Burlington), they provide complete medical care and loving temporary homes until pets find their forever families.
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older with the consent of all adults in the household. Renters must provide lease or landlord contact info. Current and past pets (within 10 years) must be spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies, yearly wellness exams, core vaccines (Feline RCP for cats, DAPPV for dogs), heartworm prevention for dogs, and have had a FeLV test in the last 2 years for cats. All household members must attend the virtual home visit and travel to the foster home to meet the animal.
Adopters submit an online application (with specific applications for dogs or cats/small animals). Within two business days, volunteers perform background checks, landlord verification (if renting), and veterinary history checks on current or past pets. Once approved, applicants complete a virtual home visit with a volunteer before meeting available animals through their foster homes.
