Richland Ctr, WI
Ocooch Mountain Humane Society is a volunteer-led, donor-funded no-kill rescue dedicated to providing shelter and medical care to stray, unwanted, and abandoned animals in Richland County, Wisconsin. The organization operates a clean, cage-free Adoption Center where cats and kittens live in socialized, cozy spaces with sunny windows while awaiting permanent homes. All rescued felines receive essential veterinary care, spay/neuter services, and support through compassionate grassroots community efforts.
Potential adopters must be at least 18 years old, present a photo ID and proof of residence, have landlord approval if renting, agree never to declaw the cat/kitten, make at least two shelter visits (with all adult household members requested to visit at least once), and agree to return the animal to OMHS if they can no longer keep it.
Adopters submit an application outlining their home and routine, then make at least two visits to the shelter to meet the animals, get acquainted, and complete paperwork. Once approved, the final visit is scheduled to sign the adoption agreement, receive medical history records, and welcome the cat home.
Adopters must agree to return their animal directly to Ocooch Mountain Humane Society if a change in living situation requires surrender.
