Waupun Area Animal Shelter Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-operated shelter providing care and placement for stray and unwanted companion animals in the City of Waupun and surrounding areas. The shelter cares for lost and homeless cats and dogs, facilitating adoptions and owner reclaims to ensure humane lifetime care. Available pets are showcased through their shelter and social media community.
Everyone living in the home must meet the animal. Homeowners must provide proof of homeownership (such as a tax document or mortgage statement), and renters must have landlord verification. Current pets or pets owned in the past 5 years must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and vet records must be authorized for shelter verification.
Prospective adopters must submit a Cat Adoption Application and ensure that everyone residing in the home visits to meet the cat or kitten. If approved for an unaltered kitten under 4 months old, adopters must show proof of prepayment for their spay/neuter at a veterinary clinic of their choice.
Surrenders are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Surrender fees are $25.00 for an altered pet and $50.00 for an unaltered pet.
