Columbus Pet Rescue (Charlies Wish Animal Rescue Inc) is a volunteer-run, foster-based animal rescue serving Columbus and Central Ohio. The organization rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes companion animals while managing a feral cat program that provides food, shelter, spay/neuter population control, and foster placement for street cats. In addition to foster homes, adoptable cats and kittens can be met in person at their partner adoption center inside PetSmart in Grove City.
Cats are generally $175; kittens start at $200 (includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, flea/tick and dewormer treatments, blood work, and health care).
Completion of an adoption application/agreement, a third-party standard background check (requiring driver's license number), veterinarian reference check (if applicable), personal reference checks, and payment of the adoption fee.
Browse available animals online or visit cats at the Grove City PetSmart during store hours. Submit a downloadable or online adoption application for pre-approval. Once approved, schedule an appointment to meet the animal (or meet cats directly at PetSmart). Adoptions are processed on a first-come, first-served basis among approved applicants.
Individuals needing assistance with an animal can submit an inquiry via their contact form specifying whether the animal is a dog or cat, owned or stray, and if it is safe and warm. Photographs and any existing veterinary records must be emailed to the rescue.
