Canines & Kitties Rescue is a 100% volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected, and abandoned dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens at risk of euthanasia. The organization pulls animals from local and out-of-state open-admission, high-intake shelters and places them in a network of volunteer foster homes spanning Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Experienced volunteers support each animal throughout the foster journey, from proper placement through adoption and beyond. To adopt from Canines & Kitties Rescue, applicants must be at least 25 years old and complete an online adoption application; applications are non-binding and simply help the organization learn more about a potential adopter. The rescue also accepts foster applications and inquiries from people who need to surrender a pet.
