Adopting

Fees, requirements & process

Requirements

Applicants must complete an application thoroughly, provide landlord/leasing approval or home ownership verification via public records, and provide veterinary contact information to verify care history for current and previous pets. Adopters must sign an adoption contract and participate in an introduction/meet-and-greet, as animals are not shipped or transported.

How it works

Interested adopters begin by submitting an online application. Applications are thoroughly reviewed by volunteers, including property/landlord checks and veterinary reference checks for current/past pets. Once approved, the foster caregiver contacts the applicant to discuss fit and coordinate a meet-and-greet before finalizing the adoption contract.
