H.E.A.R.T. Rescue is a 501(c)(3) foster-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, orphaned neonatal, medically fragile, and special-needs kittens throughout Virginia's Blue Ridge region. Operating out of dedicated volunteer homes, they provide intensive round-the-clock medical care, foster placement, pet adoption services, and TNR education. Every feline receives individualized medical care, socialization, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery before placement into a loving forever home.
Cats/Kittens a year old and under: $80; Cats over a year old: $60 (a $40 gas reimbursement fee applies for travel adoptions more than one hour outside of Virginia’s Blue Ridge)
All current pets in the applicant's home must be up to date on Rabies vaccinations unless deemed unsafe by a vet. If no pets were owned in the last 5 years, a personal reference from a non-family member, non-partner, or non-roommate is required.
Submit an adoption application request to receive an application via DocuSign. Once submitted, the rescue conducts a veterinary reference check or personal reference check. Upon approval, the rescue contacts the applicant regarding status and finalizes the adoption.
