Justice for Paws Animal Rescue is a volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue based in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Established in 2022, the organization rescues homeless, neglected, and abandoned cats and dogs from rural dumping grounds and overcrowded shelters, primarily in South Texas, and transports them to safety. Through dedicated foster networks in the DMV, they provide medical care, spay/neuter services, and loving adoptive placement.

Fees, requirements & process

From $125

Cat adoption fees: $200 for kittens 0–6 months ($325 for a kitten pair), $150 for cats 6 months–7 years, and $125 for senior cats 8 years and above. Fees include age-appropriate vaccines, monthly preventatives, and spay/neuter.

Requirements

Adopters must be at least 18 years old and capable of providing a safe, indoor, temperature-controlled environment, love, and adequate food and water.

How it works

1. Submit an adoption application for a specific cat or general application. 2. Complete an interview with the adoptions team. 3. Participate in an in-person meet and greet with the foster caregiver (or foster-to-adopt trial if the animal is arriving from out of area). 4. Finalize adoption by signing the agreement, paying the fee, and arranging pickup.
