To The Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) foster-based animal rescue founded in 2014 and located in the Washington, DC metro area (Springfield, VA). They are dedicated to saving cats and dogs from high-kill shelters across the United States and abroad, providing medical care, foster placement, and adoption into loving homes.

Applicants must be willing to undergo a vet check and home visit, provide three references (including an employer), keep adopted pets strictly indoors, commit to not declawing cats under any circumstances, establish a relationship with a primary veterinarian within one month, and agree to return the animal to the rescue if unable to keep it.
Prospective adopters must submit an online adoption application, provide references, and agree to veterinary checks and a home/yard visit by a volunteer. Once approved, adopters must sign an adoption contract and be prepared to pick up the animal promptly (same day or next).
To The Rescue offers an online Surrender Application, and adoption contracts mandate that if an adopter is ever unable or unwilling to keep a pet, they must contact To The Rescue, Inc. first to give them first option to reclaim the pet.
