FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are you the same as the national ASPCA?

No. This is an independent Alaska nonprofit. It renamed itself Alaska PAWS in July 2026 partly because the old Alaska SPCA name led people to assume a connection with the national ASPCA that has never existed.

How much does it cost to adopt a cat?

Kittens under 6 months are $250, cats from 6 months to 7 years are $225, and cats 7 years and older are $100. Every pet goes home spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated and with a wellness and dental check.

What are your hours?

Thursday through Saturday 11am-5pm and Sunday 11am-3pm. Closed Monday through Wednesday and on holidays.
