Clear Creek Cat Rescue Start an adoption application

A cats-only, foster-home-based rescue covering Southcentral Alaska from Houston to Homer, and reaching as far as the Kenai Peninsula, Dutch Harbor and Bethel. It pulls cats from the Mat-Su, Houston, Kenai, Soldotna and Homer shelters. In 2025 it rescued 615 cats with a 96 percent lifesaving rate and rehomed 561 of them.

Requirements

Every cat is spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption. The rescue is firmly opposed to declawing and will not adopt to anyone who plans to declaw. Fees can flex for lower-income families.

Cats can be adopted straight from their foster home, or met at one of the scheduled adoption fairs in Anchorage, Soldotna or Wasilla.

Can I visit a shelter building to meet the cats?

No. Clear Creek is entirely foster-based, so every cat lives in a volunteer foster home. You can adopt straight from the foster home or meet cats at an adoption fair in Anchorage, Soldotna or Wasilla.

How much does it cost to adopt a cat?

Adults are $80 and kittens under 8 months are $145. Sponsored cats are $40, and a cat aged 10 or over adopted by someone 55 or over is also $40. Barn cats go by donation.

Will you adopt to me if I plan to declaw?

No. The rescue is firmly opposed to declawing and will not place a cat with anyone who intends to have it done.
